Open Enrollment (OE) is the one time each year when employees can enroll, drop or make benefit coverage changes without a qualifying life event. OE starts Monday, 11/6 and ends Friday, 11/17. (No late enrollments will be accepted.). Enrollment changes made during OE are effective 01/01/18.
Need More Information?
Open Enrollment Meetings - The Benefits department is hosting several informational meetings (see the schedule below) to answer questions and highlight benefit changes which may impact you and your family, including the availability of a new health plan option and several new programs that will offer no-cost health services to covered plan members beginning January 1. (Click here for additional information on the district’s new partnership with Nextera Healthcare.) Information meetings last approximately 1 hour and are open to all benefits-eligible employees and their spouses. Attendance is voluntary but we encourage you to take time to learn about the exciting new benefit options available to you and your family. Representatives from UMR, Delta Dental and the district’s other benefit vendors will be in attendance at each meeting to answer your benefit questions.
Open Houses – Check out the Nextera Healthcare facilities (our new direct primary care partners) at a couple of Open Houses in early November. There will be food, fun and a chance to meet the Nextera doctors and staff members as well as representatives from the district’s benefits office (see the schedule below for dates and times). Join us at the Saturday Open House for a family-friendly event that includes prize drawings, a fire engine and Flight for Life helicopter, a tour of the Nextera facilities and a chance to visit one-on-one with representatives from the district’s benefits office and Nextera staff members to get answers to all your questions about the new health plan option.
Enrollment Help - If you need one-on-one help enrolling via Infinite Visions (IV), join us on November 9 or 14 for one of our scheduled Help Sessions. Representatives from DTS and the benefits office will be available on a drop-in basis to help you log onto IV and complete your enrollment.
If you are not making an enrollment change, are not enrolling in a Health Care or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account for calendar year 2018 or making any other type of plan change, you do not need to complete a benefits enrollment during the OE period. Your current health, dental, vision, short-term disability, voluntary life insurance and leave bank elections will continue into 2018 at the 2018 premium rates.
