It has been an outstanding start to the academic year and I want to thank our students, families, teachers, staff and other partners for continuing to support St. Vrain Valley Schools’ drive for excellence in serving our community and advancing public education.
Open Enrollment (OE) is the one time each year when employees can enroll, drop or make benefit coverage changes without a qualifying life event. OE starts Monday, 11/6 and ends Friday, 11/17. (No late enrollments will be accepted.). Enrollment changes made during OE are effective 01/01/18.
If you are a benefits-eligible employee working at least 17½ hours per week (even if you aren’t currently enrolled in the district’s health plan), plan on joining us for an onsite biometric health screening this December. Biometric screenings can help identify if you’re at risk for diabetes, heart disease, hypertension or other chronic diseases. The screenings are district-paid through the employee wellness program and results are confidential.
The district’s final onsite flu shot clinic was held on Friday, October 13. Benefit-eligible employees should contact Dylan Radford at extension 57369 to request a voucher which can be redeemed for a free flu shot at North Vista Medical Center locations in Longmont, Frederick or Boulder no later than Thursday, November 30. Flu shots are also covered on the district’s health plan options at no-cost as part of the preventive care benefit.

This success is also built upon interconnected partnerships with our teachers, staff, students, parents, business and corporate partners, and elected officials. As St. Vrain launches the start of the 2017-2018 school year, St.
Horizontal increments on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule will be implemented at the beginning of the contract year, August 10 and again on January 1. To qualify for such an increment the credits must have been completed by September 1 or January 1 and official transcripts submitted to the District no later than October 13 or February 15.
The start of a new academic year is one of my favorite times to visit our schools and talk with our students, families, teachers and staff. Our hallways are filled with a palpable optimism and drive to continue our momentum toward the highest levels of academic growth and success.
